Small Beginning with big dreams

Confidence English was born when Mr. Paul decided to put a plan in motion to revolutionize the way English is often taught. For many in Kerala, learning English brings memories of being shamed in class by a teacher, being teased by friends for making mistakes, or feeling guilty that they don’t continue with “five-minutes a day” learning apps.

In his initial travels to Kozhikode, he noticed how many people could understand English, but were paralyzed when it came time to speak English. Out of this need, the desire for Confidence English was started.

Paul dreamed of an English learning center that pushes against the current ideas that language can simply be “downloaded” into ones brain with five-minutes a day apps. Instead of people trying to learn at home and alone (called convenient by many), he dreamed of a place with real, human interaction.

Confidence English is now fulfilling this dream, one student at a time. Instead of fear and shame, students find a judgement-free environment to learn and practice speaking English in a practical way. Every student grows in not only the quality of their English skills, but also in their confidence to use it in real life. Perhaps most importantly, students find that the “inconvenience” of attending offline classes is rewarded with warm friendships, practical speaking practice, and a friendly environment that fosters growth.
